Twelve communities are set to battle for the grand prize for this year’s MTN Ashantifest Community Soccer competition billed for 22-26 June, at the Bantama and Ahinsan Astro turf.
The 12 communities are, Tech, Abrepo, Asokore Mampong, Fante New Town, Dichemso, and Kotei Deduako.
The rest are, Bantama, Asafo, Suame, Asokwa, Tafo and Aboabo.
The competition, would see the winner receive a whopping GHC20,000 a trophy, medals, MTN airtime and an appearance fee of Ghc1,000 whiles the second place community would also receive 10,000 Ghana cedis , medals, MTN airtime and also an appearance fee of Ghc1,000.
The third-place team would also pocket 5,000 Ghana cedis, medals, MTN airtime, and an appearance fee of Ghc1,000 while the fourth place team bags Ghc2,000, airtime and also an appearance fee of 1,000 Ghana cedis.
MTN would also award the best players, goal king, best goalkeeper and the fair play team.
This year’s competition is aimed at rewarding customers in the region for their loyalty and support to MTN over the years and also to engage them on certain issues.
According to the organisers, this was a way to get customers on board to interact with them as the first edition gave the company the chance to seek the concern of their customers and how they could improve their relationship with them.
The General Manager of Northern Business District – MTN Ghana, Mr. Nii Adotey Mingle at the virtual launch said, ” This competition forms part of the Ashantifest 2022 activities and it is our way of rewarding and engaging with our valued customers within and around the Ashanti Region for their continuous support to the MTN brand.”
The final match of the 2022 Ashantifest Cup would be played at Baba Yara Sports Stadium as a curtain raiser to the MTN FA cup finals on Sunday 26th June 1022 at 11am.
