Authorities of the University of Ghana, Legon have brought back “No Mask, No Entry” policy after COVID-19 following the increasing number of cases.

The University in a statement ahead of its reopening said it has noted with great concern the rise in the numbers of COVID-19, especially in the Greater Accra Region.

Therefore students and other members of the University Community are expected to adhere to all protocols which have been lagging for some time now.

These protocols include “No Mask, No Entry”, Social Distancing, and washing of hands under running water among others.

The University also reminded students who have not been vaccinated to take advantage of the vaccination centre on the campus to get vaccinated in order to keep them safe.

It would be recalled that the President in one of his “Fellow Ghanaians ” encounter indicated that it’s no more compulsory for Ghanaians to put on Facemasks.

“From tomorrow, Monday, 28th March, the wearing of facemasks is no longer mandatory”, the President directed.

But the president urged Ghanaians to continue to adhere to enhanced hygienic practices such as the washing of hands.

“I encourage all of you, though, to continue to maintain enhanced hand hygiene practices, and avoid overcrowded gatherings.”

Currently, Ghana’s active COVID-19 cases are 1,311with 243 new cases recorded. Ghana’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 1,448.
