Advisor to the President on the Economy Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei has distanced himself from an audio circulating on social media in which he is purported to have made some disparaging comments about two bigwigs in the current administration

Contents of the audio alleged to have been made by the former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry suggests that the Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta are worse economic managers.

According to the former Member of Parliament(MP) for Tafo Pankrono Constituency through his Special Aide, he is currently indisposed and has therefore not uttered a word at any meeting or forum.

He indicated that he continues to provide advice to the President and therefore supports the government’s decision to seek a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) aimed at restoring the economy.

” He is currently indisposed and could not have said what the video purports to be coming from him,” a statement released by his Personal Political Assistant to the former Minister John Kwadwo Owusu Boakye stressed indicating some faceless individuals out of desperation are bent on soiling the hardwon reputation of the former lawmaker

Adding that “In the meantime, we entreat the Security agencies to investigate and bring the perpetrators to face the full rigors of the law”.
