New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament (MPs) in the Ashanti Region are set to meet the President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the government’s neglect of the region in development, ashantibiz.com reports.

This meeting according to the Member of Parliament for Affiduase -Asokore Constituency in the Ashanti Region Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie is intended to help redeem the image of the government and their party in the region.

It is also to change the erroneous impression of residents that the   Akufo-Addo-led government has denied them their fair share of development.

“In fact, we have written a letter calling for a meeting with the president over the development of the region. This time around we are documenting every little thing for him to serve as evidence so I can show to my people because that is what is going to happen”. Nana Ayew Afriyie told Sompa FM in an interview monitored by ashantibiz.com

He emphasized that the MPs in the region will not lose guard in their discussion with the president adding that, even if it takes them to break up with the President in the discussion, they will exactly do that.

“If we don’t get a common understanding we should break away. We should not always sing and laugh together. Sometimes when we disagree we should break away, we should fight on it and that is it. This is not disrespect but it’s full respect”, he insisted.
