Secretary for the Asogli State Stephen Tetteh has admitted that indeed Member of Parliament(MP) for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong was invited for this year’s Yam festival but that was an error
Explaining the lapse in a statement issued on September 12, 2022, he indicated that Kennedy Agyapong through his representatives had requested an invitation to this year’s Yam Festival.
However, the Asogli Council refused the gesture because the Assin South Member of Parliament has in the past attacked their leader Togbe Afede using some unprintable words against his person.
The Secretary in the statement said that even though he was made aware that Kennedy Agyapong was not welcome, he mistakenly signed the invitation and therefore takes responsibility for the gaffe.
Background
Togbe Afede and elders of the Asogli state rejected some gifts the Assin Central Member of Parliament brought when he attended this Year’s Yam festival.
Also, Kennedy Agyapong was blocked from seeing Togbe Afede.
Reports indicated that these happened because the New Patriotic Party flagbearer hopeful is said to have attacked Togbe Afede in the past.
