A Presidential Hopeful and Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency in the Central Region, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, says he will find the killers of an Investigative Journalist, Mr. Ahmed Suale, and a former MP for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern region, Mr. Joseph Kwame Kyeretwie Boakye Danquah, if he wins the presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and subsequently becomes the President of Ghana.
According to him, he has been accused of having a hand in the slain Ahmed Suale and J. B. Danquah murder cases and thinks the only way for him to exonerate himself is when he gets the power of the state to conduct proper investigations into the cases.
The Assin Central lawmaker and Business Mogul said this on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
The NPP Flagbearer Hopeful explained that as President of the land, he can instruct the Police to act decisively to find the culprits involved in the two murder cases.
“The problem is if the President shows interest, the Police will work and I will show interest because it is me who has been accused; it is important to exonerate myself,” Mr. Agyapong stated emphatically.
Background
The late investigative journalist, Mr. Ahmed Suale, who was a member of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI team, was shot dead in January 2019 by unknown assailants close to his Madina residence in Accra.
He was reported to have been shot three times; twice in the chest and another in the neck.
Prior to his death, the NPP Presidential Hopeful was alleged to have made had made some questionable pronouncements on his Madina-based Net 2 Television Network.
To date, no one has been arrested and charged in connection with the late Ahmed Suale.
Concerning the late Mr. J.B. Danquah’s murder case, Police Reports said the NPP MP was stabbed in the neck and chest multiple times on February 9, 2016, at his residence at Shashie in Accra by suspected armed robbers, killing him in the process.
Even though one Daniel Asiedu, aka Sexy Dondon, was arrested and charged with murder, the case is yet to be determined by the Court.
