66th Independence Celebration: Bosomtwe MP calls for unity to accelerate growth in the constituency

The Bosomtwe Constituency has celebrated its version of the 66th Independence celebration in a scintillating style.

 

About sixteen schools including Senior High Schools participated in the celebration.

Some of the schools were Jachie-Pramso SHS, Beposo SHS, St Georges SHS, Osei Yaw Adutwum SHS, Bosomtwe STEM SHS, Kuntenase D/A JHS and Piase D/A JHS.

The rest were Woarakese D/A JHS, Petrensa Basic School, Hidden Treasures Academy, Grace Living Waters Academy, Dunamis Model School, Akokofe R/C Primary School etc.

Jachie-Pramso SHS was adjudged the overall best-performing school.

Speaking to Wontumionline’s Nana Owusu Achiaw, on behalf of the Member of Parliament for the area, Emmanuel Ntim said today is a great occasion to remember.

He said, “unity is our strength and the people of Bosomtwe should be united to foster the development of the area.”

He indicated that the people of Bosomtwe can fight to reach where they dream of if they are united.

Dr Yaw Adutwum encouraged the constituents to keep working hard because Ghana’s development lies in unity.

“Every stakeholder should continue to play their role for Ghana to develop,” he said.

He appealed to the residents to continue supporting him with prayers so he can take the constituency to the next level.

Adding his voice, Madam Agartha Ahia on behalf of the District Chief Executive Officer for the area, Hon. Lawyer Joseph Assuming recalled that “66 years ago our forefathers who couldn’t tolerate the obnoxious colonial rule fought for Ghana’s independence”

He said Ghana became a sovereign state and took its destiny into its own hands.

 

Hon. Lawyer Joseph Assuming indicated that Ghanaians are commemorating the struggles of our forefathers to achieve the freedom they are enjoying today.

“We should thank God for how far he has brought us,” he urged.

Hon. Lawyer Joseph Assuming said Bosomtwe is where it’s today because of unity of purpose and dedication on the part of the authorities and followers.

He was emphatic that the Bosomtwe constituency cannot grow without unity

“As the adage goes united we stand, divided we fall,”

He affirmed that the Constituency can attain its dreams and aspirations if the residents fight together as a solid team and do not give room for division.

The DCE pledged that the Assembly and the MP will continue to make a conscious effort to aim at provide more classrooms, with adequate furniture, health facilities, decent roads, portable water, electricity etc towards making the district worth living.
