In a field predominantly occupied by men, Anita Amo Akrofi is defying stereotypes and driving change as one of Ghana’s leading female truck drivers at INZAG Construction, a reputable German firm.
Akrofi has not only mastered the operational intricacies of heavy-duty vehicles, but she is also breaking barriers for women in the transportation industry. “When I started, many people were skeptical about a woman driving a truck,” she recalls. “But I’ve always believed that gender should never limit one’s aspirations.”
Anita’s journey into the male-dominated trucking sector began with a passion for vehicles and engineering. After completing her training as a heavy-duty truck driver, she joined INZAG Construction, where she has played a crucial role in transporting materials for several significant infrastructure projects across the region.
At INZAG, she operates heavy machinery on construction sites, contributing to vital infrastructure projects that aim to enhance transportation and trade within the region. Her passion for her work and commitment to excellence have earned her accolades from her peers and supervisors alike.
