The Rand Foundation, under the leadership of Dr. Rosemond Aboagye, successfully inaugurated a library project for the pupils of Kakraba Nyanyano A.M.E Zion Junior High School on October 25, 2024.
This significant initiative was a promise made by Dr. Aboagye during her visit to the school in February, where she learned about the lack of a library facility. Inspired by her own journey from a kenkey seller in Korle Gonno to becoming the country’s first pediatric radiologist, Dr. Aboagye recognized the crucial role that reading plays in the education of young minds.
The project garnered support from the Ghana Library Authority and the Rotary Club, which partnered with the Rand Foundation to bring the library to fruition. During the inauguration, both Dr. Aboagye and her partners urged the students to make the most of the new resources and develop a strong reading habit.
In gratitude, Madam Agnes Arthur, the headmistress of the school, expressed heartfelt thanks to the Rand Foundation and its partners for their generous contribution, which has undoubtedly brightened the future for the pupils.
