Hard Times: GHC2 ball kenkey now looks like a golf ball -CPP lashes NPP at Conference

  • Post category:Politics

The Convention Peoples Party(CPP) has bemoaned the levels of hardship in the country that is manifested in the continued reduction in a GHC2 ball of Kenkey.

In a solidarity speech read on behalf of the party’s General Secretary Nana Yaa Jantuah at the Annual National Delegates Conference of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) held in Kumasi at the weekend, she called the Akufo-Addo led government to revive the ailing Ghanaian economy.

“you should not lose sight of the fact that we are going through a period of harsh economic conditions, with its attendant high cost of living and indeed the burden of survival is heavy on Ghanaians.

Government should therefore do everything within their power to bring the economy back to life with the same zeal you have shown to make your party work .it should be put on notice that a 2-cedi ball of kenkey looks like the size of a golf ball and thus some people are on a kenkey eating boycott”, she disclosed.

The CPP Executive also reignited the debate for confiscated assets of the party in the interest of unity and cohesion.

“The CPP wish to make an appeal to His Excellency Comrade Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo that, in the spirit of comradeship and the promotion of democracy if the government would return to the CPP all their confiscated assets notable amongst them the building housing the Ministry of Information, that one was built with the sweat and toil of our party members especially the market women who were the political and financial backbone of the CPP. That building was our headquarters

“Your Excellency Comrade Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, we believe the time has come for us to open the conversation on the matter concerning our confiscated assets to open the door for reparation and return and we know and believe our Comrade President will grant us this request”, she appealed.
