A 62-year-old man, Mr Akwasi Asare, has been burnt to death in a domestic fire outbreak at Kronum in the Suame Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Firefighters say they had a distress call at about 5:33 pm on Monday, 10 January 2022, about the blaze.
The Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, DOIII Peter Addai, told the media that firefighters were dispatched to the scene to put the fire under control.
He said seven out of 12 rooms on the compound house were burnt down.
Mr Addai said preliminary investigations conducted suggest that the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
He called on the public to be cautious about fires in the dry season.
