The member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Okudzeto Ablakwa has today made some statements that has gotten the attention of many.
According to him, there should not be any committee to collect monies from Ghanaians and from the government with the hope of helping the victims in Appiatse.
He explained his point that there must be an investigation into the matter to see who was responsible for the explosion so all charges would be incurred by such institution.
He added that, the resources of the country are limited and that there is no need for Ghanaians to contribute any money to help victims if the one responsible is not identified.
“It is absolutely possible that when the independent enquiry is completed, there would be no need to raise funds from the general public or use scare taxpayer resources to assist victims and for reconstruction Appiatse because the entities found out to be responsible would be made to bear the full cost of compensation and rehabilitation/ resettlement” he wrote.
He made this revelation today on his official Facebook page.
