Mr Wilson Agbanyo, the Kadjebi District Chief Executive (DCE), has handed over the Ghana Priority Hospital Infrastructure Projects (District Hospital Ghana), Agenda 111 project site to Indigene Associates, the Contractor.
Mr Agbanyo, speaking the site handing over ceremony applauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the monumental project which he believed would create jobs for the unemployed youths in the district.
He pleaded with the Contractor to employ local artisans in the project execution since the district had an enormous human resource base.
Mr Agbanyo said the project had come as an intervention to alleviate the incessant patient referral cases due to lack of hospital to handle those critical medical cases in the district.
He said the Agenda 111 project came as no surprise to the Chiefs because they have been craving for it for decades without getting any good response from successive governments.
He, therefore, appealed to the Chiefs in the District to give the contractor the needed support for early completion of the project.
Mr. Agbanyo assured the Project Consultant his commitment to assist them for early completion of the project and implored him to report any issue that he might be confronted with during the execution of the project.
Mr. Larry Attipoe, the Project Consultant said the Kadjebi District was lucky to be chosen as the first in the Oti Region for the Agenda 111 Project.
He said in most of the districts across the country, there have been issues with land acquisition making it difficult for the Priority Hospital Infrastructure Project to commence.
He, thus, lauded the Chiefs for making it possible for the Contractor to acquire the land without litigation; adding the timeline for the project was 18 months.
Nana Amoah Nyarko, the Odikro of Asato-Gyamonome and a former DCE for Kadjebi explained that development must be devoid of partisan politics because it derailed the developmental goal.
He said the Chiefs in the District have been pursuing District Hospital for almost three decades and much-admired the President for the project.
He entreated the government to allow Chiefs to monitor projects within their jurisdiction to avoid shoddy works.
