The news about road repairs and construction in Kumasi got commendations by the people of Kumasi early this year when the government announced that Kumasi was going to be given a new face-lift.
The NPP government assured Ghanaians beginning of its second term that roads in the country are going to be its priority, of which Kumasi was no exception.
The road construction of Esereso, Feyiase and Aputuogya was started early last year and was scheduled to be completed within 2years. Residents and Passengers who ply on that stretch now fear that the scheduled deadline by the contractor (Kofi Jobs) would be met.
According to them, they are now engulf with dust 24hours and commercial drivers are exploiting them with exorbitant fares.
They say commercial drivers who ply on their stretch have resorted to doing shorter distance journey instead of the normal station to station they know.
One cannot leave the house for work without being bathe with dust. They plead with the contractor to speedup works on the road.
