The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Adwoa Safo, terminated Gertrude Quashigah’s appointment on Tuesday 18 May 2021
Adwoa Safo, the Gender and Social Protection Minister, has reversed her decision to sack the national co-ordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme.
Safo terminated Gertrude Quashigah’s appointment on Tuesday 18 May 2021.
Quashigah was ordered to hand over any official documents relating to the School Feeding Programme in her custody to the chief director of the Gender Ministry.
“You will be paid one month’s salary in lieu of notice as stipulated in your contract agreement,” said the letter from Safo notifying Quashigah of the termination of her employment.
But in a new letter, dated Thursday 20 May and published today, the Gender and Social Protection Minister says the earlier communication was the product of an administrative error.
“This is to inform you of my decision to withdraw my earlier letter … I wish to state that my earlier letter was as a result of administrative error,” the letter says.
