Akufo-Addo appoints Adom-Otchere as Airport Board Chair

President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed journalist Paul Adom-Otchere as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ghana Airport Company Limited.

The other members of the Board include Mr Yaw Kwakwa, the Managing Director of GACL, Mr Teye Adjirackor, the President’s nominee; Mr Kwabena Nyarko Jectey Nyarko, the President’s nominee; Philomina Sam, the President’s nominee and Mr Francis Kofi Nunoo of the Ministry of Transport and Grp. Cpt. Gervase Wienaa of the Ghana Airforce.

Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) was established as a result of the decoupling of the existing Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in line with modern trends in the aviation industry.

The company was registered in January 2006 with specific responsibility for planning, developing, managing and maintaining all airports and aerodromes in Ghana including Kotoka International Airport (KIA), Kumasi Airport, Tamale Airport, Sunyani Airport, Ho Airport, WA Airstrip as well as various Airstrips.

GACL is an implementing agency under the Ministry of Aviation.

The company commenced business on 1 January 2007.
