  • Post category:Showbiz

A High Court in Accra has ordered self-acclaimed Dancehall King Shatta Wale to pay $120,000 plus damages to Maverick City Entertainment, the company that organises the Wildaland Festival.

Despite being paid in advance, Shatta Wale did not appear at the event in 2021, according to the ruling of the court presided over by her ladyship Afi Agbanu Kudomor. The organisers suffered monetary losses as a consequence.

Along with the $120,000, the well-known Dancehall performer must additionally pay interest on the total amount due from December 14, 2021, to the date of the last payment, at a rate of 5.5%.

This comes out to $10, 892.47 more.
