Court sets aside injunction against Ga Manye funeral

  • Post category:National

The High Court General Jurisdiction has set aside an injunction granted against the funeral of the late Ga Manye, Naa Omaedru III.

In its ruling, the court, presided over by Justice Patrick Baayeh noted that ” I am of the view that the Order of Interrim Injunction granted on 25th October 2023 was made in error.”

This, according to the court is because the applicants had failed to give the true state of affairs.

The court thus set aside the interrim injunction and impressed on any desirous party to come on notice to the other parties for a proper evaluation from both sides.

In her lifetime, the late Ga Manye, who died in December 2022 at age 88, was noted greatly for her numerous charity works.

Her final funeral rites which began earlier this month will end on October 31, 2023.

Several plans and preparations by the Ga Traditional Council are far advanced, including a directive for the closure of shops and businesses in the Central Business District on October 28.
