Discontent among Police Officers in Kumasi

A recent survey conducted by Ashantibiz has revealed widespread dissatisfaction within the police unit in Kumasi.

Officers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, expressed concerns about bullying by senior officers and a lack of adequate toilet facilities. These issues, they said, are hindering their efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property. “The bullying is constant,” said one officer.

“We are constantly being belittled and humiliated by our superiors.” Another officer said that the lack of adequate toilet facilities is a major problem. “We often have to wait hours to use the bathroom,” the officer said. “It’s unsanitary and it makes it difficult to do our jobs.”

The officers have appealed to authorities to investigate their concerns and take steps to improve the situation. They hope that by doing so, they can restore morale and improve their ability to serve the community. “We are committed to serving the people of Kumasi,” said one officer. “But we need the support of our superiors and the government to do our jobs effectively.”

The Ashantibiz survey was conducted among 100 police officers in Kumasi.
