In an exhilarating night of recognition and celebration at the 3rd Ghana Medical Diagnostic Excellence Awards 2024, Dr. Rosemond Aboagye, the inspiring CEO of Rand Medical Imaging and Health Systems, clinched the title of ‘Outstanding Female Radiologist’ in the field of medical diagnostics at this year’s prestigious awards ceremony held at the Airport View Hotel on August 24. The event, hosted by the charismatic Giovani Caleb of TV3, spotlighted the most outstanding contributions in the field of radiology, showcasing the exceptional talents of healthcare professionals across the nation.
Dr. Aboagye, who also garnered the title of Paediatric Radiologist of the Year in 2023, stands as a beacon of resilience and dedication in the medical community. Her remarkable achievements this year, where Rand Medical Imaging was also recognized as the Fastest Growing Diagnostic Centre, underscore her relentless commitment to advancing healthcare and making quality diagnostics accessible to all.
Her journey, however, is far from ordinary. Raised in the modest surroundings of Korle Gonno, Dr. Aboagye’s formative years were often colored by the determination of a local kenkey seller whose unwavering spirit and tenacity inspired her to aim high despite the challenges.
The event highlighted the extraordinary work of healthcare facilities, bringing together organizations such as MDS-Lancet Laboratories, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Uracare, and NHIS, which continue to set the bar for excellence in radiology and diagnostics. Among other notable awardees was Dr. Albertina Oheneba-Williams of BME Diagnostics, who earned the title of Best Breast Radiologist of the Year, illustrating the diverse talent thriving within the industry.
