From Success in Radio to Academic Recognition: Royal FM Manager conferred with Doctorate Degree

The General Manager of Royal FM, who doubles as the Managing Editor for the Wassaman Insider Newspaper, Sir RICHMOND ANTWI BOASIAKO, has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters by the Elohim Theological College and Seminary in the United States.

The Ghana chapter of the globally recognized Theological Educational Centre chose Richmond amongst credible individuals who have been using their various platforms to promote peace, social cohesion, health, sustainable agriculture, sound moral and ethical behaviour for societal good, and total national development.

As an astute media practitioner and the Morning Show Host of Asankrangwa-based Royal FM (89.3), Richmond Antwi Boasiako has been championing community developmental journalism by bringing to the fore various issues affecting the infrastructural development of communities in his catchment area for societal and governmental attention for solutions. The citation presented to honour Richmond Antwi Boasiako says in part that for  your dedication to your calling as a humanitarian and philanthropist, your intellectual nsights, and your priceless and timeless research on issues relating to community development and society in general, the Doctoral Board of Elohim Theological College and Seminary, under the direction and leadership of Archbishop Elect and President, Dr. Kwame Aburam Anoff SR, has conferred on you an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters, D.HL. (Honoris Causa”).

The full names of awardees include Hon. Dr. Isaac Kwadjo Buabeng, MCE-Nsawam Adoagyiri; Hon. Dr. Nenyi George Andah, former MP-Awutu Senya West; Hon. Dr. Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, MP-Gomoah East Constituency; Archbishop Professor Dr. Eugene Finney Phillips, Leader-Apostles Bishops Ordination Institute; and Sir Dr. Richmond Antwi Boasiako, General Manager, Royal FM-Asankrangwa.

Richmond, an acclaimed media practitioner and consultant, has worked extensively in the media industry as a presenter and has held several managerial positions like news editor, programme manager, marketing manager, studio manager, and general manager for over twenty years. He is extensively involved in training people in professional radio and TV presentations, advises several radio and TV stations and businesses on sources of funds for various projects, and provides management resources for effective completion.

Born on March 18, 1976, at Effiduasi-Ashanti, his vast experience in creative news writing and developmental journalism made him a news correspondent for the Chronicle Newspaper and a feature journalist with the Pioneer and other newspapers.

Richmond is presently the General Manager and Morning Show Host of Royal 89.3 FM at Asankrangwa in the Western Region of Ghana. He also doubles as the consultant for Samreboi-based Green Gold FM, owned by Samartex Timber and Plywood Limited. Richmond possesses a Certificate in Corporate Leadership and People Management (Cap J Leadership Development Training Institute, Accra) and two life experiences.

Honorary doctorate degrees in administration and divinity from the Yeshua International School of Theology (USA), Masters in Christian Counselling (Grace Theological Seminary-USA/Liberia), Mini-MBA Certificate in Corporate Governance (ACCRA Business School), several diplomas and certificates in journalism, newspaper reporting, broadcast journalism, etc. from accredited institutions in Ghana and abroad He also has extensive knowledge of travel and tourism management. Richmond Antwi Boasiako is the Director of Studies for the Asankrangwa-based Royal Media School of Excellence. He has over fifteen years’ mastery and experience in public speaking and radio programme presentation.

He has organisational and planning skills, leadership and motivational qualities, strong written and verbal communication skills, and an individual and teamwork spirit. He is an ordained minister with a specialty in teaching, life coaching, and personal development advocacy. Having graduated from the Effiduasi L/A JHS and Effiduasi Senior High Commercial School (EFFISCO), he is a two-time award winner for Western and Western North Regions (Best Morning Show Host Category) and a one-time Best Morning Show Host in Wassa Amenfi from Unique Empire, organisers of the Wassaman Entertainment and Business Awards.

Richmond helps with talent identification and management. He also has a special interest in issues concerning the youth and the environment, as well as effective ministry and evangelism. He has excellent human relations skills and a strong ability to conduct interviews for research purposes.
