Ghana Nurse-Midwife Trainees Association appeals for improved security amid attacks in Bawku

The Ghana Nurse-Midwife Trainees’ Association is urgently calling for enhanced security measures at the Bawku Presbyterian Nursing and Midwifery Training College in response to an armed attack on approximately 50 students on January 19, 2024.

The incident occurred near Binduri in Bawku as the students were returning home after the vacation period.

This incident has instilled fear among the students, prompting the association to appeal urgently for the safety of trainee nurses and midwives in the area.

In a statement released on January 20, 2024, the Ghana Nurse-Midwife Trainees’ Association is urging security authorities to bolster their efforts in safeguarding the nursing trainees in the region.

The association is actively collaborating with stakeholders to identify practical solutions that will ensure a more secure future for trainees not only in Bawku but throughout Ghana.
