I don’t need protection from charlatans – Chief Imam tells IGP to stop Owusu Bempah from using his name in prophecies

  • Post category:National

The Office of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu, has called on the Inspector General of Police, the National Security apparatus and the Christian fraternity in the country to call Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah to order and stop him from using the name of the chief Imam as a subject of his prophecies.

Rev Owusu Bempah, who is the leader and founder of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, is alleged to have made comments about the Chief Imam that his office finds offensive.

The controversial preacher is alleged to have said the National Chief Imam and other leaders consult him to look into their destinies.

Unhappy with the comment, the Chief Imam’s office, in a statement, said the claims by Rev Owusu Bempah have no iota of truth but represent a figment of his own imagination.

The statement added that in the interest of national unity, peace, and harmony, Rev Owusu Bempah should desist from mistaking the meekness of His Eminence as a weakness.

It added that although the Chief Imam is a champion of interfaith harmony and peaceful co-existence, he does not seek protection and prosperity from charlatans on the pulpit.

“As a true icon of faith, His Eminence is guided by the divine words that … ‘Allah is sufficient for any person who relies on Him…’” the statement said.
