While most supporters of the NDC have tipped former President John Mahama as the best candidate to lead the party into victory in the next general election, a former member of the party thinks otherwise.
Stephen Atubiga, a member of the communication team who was recently suspended, says the former NDC leader is blessed beyond reducing himself to contesting the Presidential position again.
“Former President John Dramani Mahama is so blessed today that he is above contesting election. He’s so blessed to be the only surviving former President from the NDC. He’s so bigger than leading the NDC because internationally he plays several strategic roles and he’s like a King maker and God father for the party.”
The outspoken suspended communicator observed that, Mr. Mahama risk shrinking his integrity further if he’s defeated.
Speaking in a media interview monitored by Ashantibiz news, he stressed that, “His integrity may shrink again if he’s defeated. It’s difficult for a former defeated President to win election again. But a new candidate and a new face can make unrealistic promise but there would be no places to punch.”
He vowed never to support Mahama’s ambition to lead the party into the 2024 general election.
