The Elohim Theological College and Seminary, an affiliate of Apostolic University (USA), honoured Mr. Maxwell Palasco Boakye, CEO and Board Chair of Max-Palasco Group of Companies, with an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters on Friday, 22 November 2024.

The prestigious accolade was bestowed in recognition of Dr. Palasco’s substantial contributions to society and humanity. The award ceremony took place at Selikus Hotel in Wasa Akropong, located in the Amenfi East Municipality of Ghana’s Western Region.

The honorary doctorate was presented by Dr. Kwame Aburam Anoff Senior, President of the institution. In addition to the degree, Mr. Boakye received a doctoral gown, a citation, and a medal—symbolic of his philanthropic efforts and support for those in need.

Expressing his gratitude during the event, Mr. Boakye thanked the Elohim Theological College and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing education and development throughout Ghana. He also pledged his unwavering support for maintaining peace and national unity ahead of the upcoming December 7 Elections.

“I am profoundly grateful to the Chancellor and the Council members of this esteemed institution for this honour,” said Dr. Boakye. “I dedicate this recognition to my late mother, Agnes Appiah. I also owe a great deal to the academic community and the mentors who have guided my journey.”

Dr. Boakye emphasised that this honour is not just a personal milestone but a reflection of the collective efforts of all who strive for societal betterment. He encouraged young people to persevere in their aspirations, stating that the honorary doctorate should motivate others to excel in their pursuits, as their efforts are being observed.

In his address, Dr. Kwame Aburam Anoff Senior explained the institution’s criteria for awarding honours: “Many institutions wait until individuals have passed away to confer honours, but we believe that such posthumous recognitions lack significance. Our approach involves thorough assessments of deserving individuals, endorsed by community representatives.”

He added that the selection process is rigorous, as the monitoring team gathers information from those close to potential honourees to ensure integrity and prevent any undue influence.
