Reports reaching Ashantibiz indicates that he died in the early hours of Tuesday morning at his residence.
He is noted for his prolific Ghanaian music with over eight hundred hit songs.
Nana Ampadu paid his dues over five decades in the Ghanaian music industry.
He died at age 76
