The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has put on hold election of its 2024 Presidential Candidate in the Manhyia South Constituency.
The decision was taken at a meeting on Tuesday, April 25.
It is unclear what the reason is.
A constituency in the Ashanti Region, Manhyia South is regarded as a stronghold for two of the contenders – Dr Kwabena Duffuor and Kojo Bonsu – who both hail from the Region.
The two are challenging former President John Dramani Mahama.
At the meeting, FEC also decided to suspend the parliamentary primaries in 15 constituencies including Manhyia South.
According to a press release signed by a Deputy General Secretary, Barbra Serwaa Asamoah, a new date will be selected for the elections in those constituencies.
All others will go to the polls on Saturday, May 13.
