The Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs has welcomed three new members in a ceremonial induction held during their final meeting for the year on November 15. Presided over by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the ceremony saw the formal inclusion of Nsutahene Nana Asamoah Gyamfi Sekyere II, Offinsohene Nana Dwamena Akenteng II, and Mamfehene Nana Kwaku Kwam II, each of whom pledged their commitment to the values and responsibilities bestowed upon them.
The induction was officiated by High Court Judge, Her Ladyship Justice Hannah Taylor, who oversaw the oaths of membership, secrecy, and judicial obligations taken by the new chiefs. Their oaths mark a significant commitment to upholding the traditions and laws of the Ashanti Kingdom.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II delivered a heartfelt address, encouraging the newly inducted members to honor their oaths and contribute positively to the House’s functions. “You vowed to abide by the law and I look forward to that,” he stated. The King emphasized the importance of dedication, urging the new chiefs to actively participate in the committees they are assigned and to make decisions that benefit the entire House.
As the year draws to a close, Otumfuo expressed optimism for the upcoming year, hinting at a “lot of activities” planned that will require the dedication and hard work of the new members. He also took the opportunity to express gratitude to Justice Taylor for her role in the ceremony, recognizing her contributions to the community.
