Residents in Adagya alarmed by persistent stench from Zoom Lion Dumping Site

Residents of Adagya, a community in Kumasi, are raising concerns over the unbearable stench emanating from the Zoom Lion dumping site in their area.

According to the residents, the odor has become unbearable, particularly during the rainy season, making it difficult to breathe. Zoom Lion, a waste management company, established its recycling plant in the community, where refuse is collected for recycling purposes.

Initially, residents say the company fumigated the area regularly, but this practice has allegedly been discontinued, leading to a worsening of the stench. “The stench is unbearable,” one resident told Ashantibiz. “We are afraid it will cause a health outbreak if nothing is done about it.”

Residents are appealing to authorities to intervene and address the situation. They are calling for increased fumigation and a more effective waste management system to mitigate the odor and protect the health of the community.
