Spent shells of live ammunition have been retrieved at the Campus of Islamic Senior High School (SHS) after a raid by armed police personnel on Tuesday.
Police in the area had disclosed that rubber bullets and water cannons were used to disperse irate students who were demonstrating against the rampant knockdown of their colleagues by speeding motorists on that stretch of the road.
It however turned out that the police lied in their defense as shells of live bullets which were shot sporadically at the students were found at the scene by journalists who visited the institution to ascertain things for themselves.
It would be recalled that ashantibiz.com earlier on Monday, June 13, 2022 reported how a demonstration by students of the Islamic Senior High School at Bantama in the Kumasi Metropolis has turned bloody after law enforcement clashed with the marauding teens.
More than 30 students who were manhandled by police re-enforcement from the Formed Police Unit (FPU) had to be rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Suntreso Government Hospital for medical attention.
