Stop all discriminations against LGBTQI community – US Embassy urges Ghana

  • Post category:National

The United States Embassy to Ghana has said it will continue to reaffirm LGBTQI+ as human rights as part of a broader US government policy to make gay rights equality a center of its diplomacy and opposes all forms of discrimination against the LGBTQI community.

The US Embassy posted a picture of US President Joe Biden accompanied by a post with hashtag Pride2022.

The US Embassy Accra said it “reaffirms that LGBTQI+ rights are human rights and that no group should be excluded from those protections, regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, sex characteristics, disability status, age, religion or belief. #Pride2022”.

The US and other countries around the world will be celebrating Pride Month this June.

Last year around this time, the Embassy in Accra flew a pride flag to show solidarity and support for the LGBTQI community in Ghana who have come under attack from various quarters.
