The spokeswoman for Alan’s movement, Ebo Buckman, has described the Majority Leader in Parliament, Hon. Kyei Mensah Bonsu, as a hypocrite and one of the foremost divisive personalities who are hindering the progress of the New Patriotic Party.
Buckman expressed his dissatisfaction on Time FM’s morning show on Thursday when addressing comments made by the Majority Leader, who urged the party’s executives to persuade Alan to withdraw his decision to resign from the party. He called out the Majority Leader, to be honest, as he was the first to violate the party’s guidelines for the flag-bearership race by making derogatory remarks suggesting that it was time for the party to elect a non-Akan candidate to lead.
According to Buckman, this single remark was a violation of the party’s established measures, and the majority leader has no moral authority to call for Alan’s return. He questioned why the majority leader did not decline the opportunity to lead the party in parliament when he was well aware that almost all party representatives in leadership positions in parliament are Akans.
