As Ghana joins the world to celebrate Forestry Day, the Sunyani District Manager of the Forestry Commission, Mr. Francis Brobbey has outline ups and downs of the Commission in the district.
According to him, Fulani herdsmen menace continuous to be a challenge to the Commission despite efforts to protect the forest reserve.
He said the commission has however chalked successes in the area of getting rid of some Fulani herdsmen and their cattle destroying the forest reserve in areas such as Berekum and its environs.
He attributed the achievement to the effort of their rapid response team and the measures put in by his outfit to fight this menace.
Mr. Brobbey indicated that more men will be deployed soon to the rapid response team in the Sunyani District to augment the fight against the Fulani herdsmen.
He stressed that they are not going to stop till they eradicate this menace. He however called for collective effort to make this fight a successful one.
Mr. Brobbey disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Soiree News as they celebrate world forest day.
UN has set every 21st March to mark World Forest Day to create awareness and to protect the forest.
